Yeah, We’re OK …

February 11, 2009 by Dave Juliette

Here at OMT, we’ve been getting bombarded lately with cards and letters from concerned readers because it’s been nearly a week since we last published anything, and the last time we did, we indicated that we weren’t exactly on top of our game.

First, let us assure you that everything’s fine; we’re on the mend, and we should be back in form in the next couple of days. We want to thank all of you who have shown your concern by writing, calling and sending gifts. We really appreciate it …

Actually, we’ve been back at work since Monday (we’re referring, of course, to that other job that we have, the one that actually generates the revenue essential to supporting our lifestyle), and just the fact that we’re up and doing again has had a tremendous impact on our physical and mental well-being.

But we’re still not 100%, so it’s likely that we’re going to keep the OMT offices shuttered for the rest of the week, watching from the sidelines as President Obama and his team show bold, decisive leadership in the face of potential economic catastrophe, while at the same time the Republicans are hard at work transforming themselves into a regional party, capable only of wagging their collective finger at those trying to help and offering nothing useful of their own.

It is a measure, we think, of just how stupid the Republicans are that they have, in just three short months, completely forgotten the lessons of November 4, 2008. The snowball of American economic collapse is growing larger and moving faster down the hill with every passing day, and the Republicans are virtually unanimous in their opposition to any measure to stop it. They somehow think that they can actually benefit from the collapse of the American economy. They are fairly drooling at the prospect of massive bank failures, corporate bankruptcies, and the loss of millions of American jobs.

Why do the Republicans hate America so much?

Why do Republicans want to risk our national security by actively working toward the failure of the American economy?

Why are the Republicans hell-bent on bringing down the American way of life?

Because they know they can’t win elections anymore, that’s why, and the only way that they can regain power is by overthrowing the government. Which is precisely what this outlaw party is doing by blocking President Obama’s efforts.

The time has come to recognize the Republican Party for precisely what it is; a domestic terrorist organization, whose agenda is to replace the American system of democracy with an authoritarian dictatorship.

The time has come to start rounding up these terrorists and moving them to re-education camps for their own good, as well as for the good of the country.

Until we completely crush this Republican threat, America will be at risk of becoming another North Korea, with Newt Gingrich as our “dear leader”, while millions of Americans starve.

Remember, you heard it here first.

My, we feel much better now.
